Mark Chosak

 

 Mark Chosak, a native of Los Angeles, has been playing guitar and performing since the age of 10.  Upon entering college, he began his serious study of music, completing a B.A. degree in music at UCLA (winning the Atwater Kent and Gil Rodin awards for guitar performance) and performing with such jazz-greats as: George Cables, Poncho Sanchez, Buddy Collette and Bobby Shew; and then continuing his studies at the Grove School of Music, where he graduated with honors.  Throughout his career, Mark has performed and recorded with various artists for live concerts, film, television and sound recordings.  He is active in the L.A. recording scene both as a session guitarist and as a composer.  His debut CD, 'Perception' has received airplay on KLON jazz radio station and represents a mix of original jazz compositions spanning many years of his writing career. The CD features outstanding performances by some of L.A.'s best session recording musicians including: Bob Sheppard (sax and flute), Jason Harnell (drums), Bill Fulton and Tom Zink (keyboards), Ric Fierabracci and Trey Henry (bass), Anne King (flugelhorn), and Ramon Yslas (percussion).  Mark is currently performing regularly with the Mark Harrison Quintet, the Doctor Wu Band (Steely Dan tribute band) and has toured and performed with such artists as Doug Fieger (The Knack),  tribute bands such as 'Pretzel Logic' - A Steely Dan Revue, Stephen Sorrentino's Elton John tribute band, R&B, rock, latin, blues and jazz groups including Thom Teresi and The Street Smart Band, Scott Wilkie, Rick Keller, Elaine Miles, What The Funk, the Kait Kingston Blues Band,  and others.  His CD credits include soundtracks such as "Halloween 5",  "The Addams Family Movie"; television shows such as " I.M. Weasel", "As The World Turns",  "Poochini";  TV commercials such as Del Mar Fair, Mailboxes, Etc., Hotel Del Coronado,  Breast Cancer PSA; video games including: NBA Action '98, Fastbreak '98, NHL '97, ONE, and many others; recordings by Mark Harrison - "Are WeThere Yet?", Thom Teresi and The Street-Smart Band - "Reggae Dreams", "Live At The Old Pasadena Summerfest",  Lisa Bowman - "Bittersweets", Sally Stewart - "Take My Heart" (co-wrote two songs), Sheryl Smith, Warner Jansen - "Lasting Impressions", Mark Jobson - "Through The Faith" and other artists.  Mark has also performed for musicals, corporate events, and the occassional coffee-house or bookstore.
